Jamie.

The moment I saw Jamie in her dress I thought she had stepped right out of a fairy tale from my childhood! Her beauty was so stunningly classic complimented by her sweeping dress with all its exquisite lace and beading. She truly looked like a princess ready to marry her prince.

And this past weekend, she did marry her prince! Which means I finally get to share these lovely bridal portraits from our session a few weeks back.

Abi + Josh

It’s not often the parents of a bride and groom know each other long before their children were even born. Abi and Josh’s relationship was built on the already strong foundation of their parents’ friendship. It was beautiful to see two separate families-already so close-officially become one.

I am so thankful that Abi and Josh asked me to photograph their wedding. I instantly fell in love with wedding photography and look forward to learning more and growing in this area.

Colorado.

Absolutely breathtaking. And I’m not just talking about the boy (wink wink), the scenery surrounding me on my summer vacation was nothing short of inspiring. As the sun set each night, my hands basically found their own way to my camera. Luckily, my wonderful boyfriend was willing to play model one evening.

Nashville.

A couple weekends ago, Caleb, Buddy and I traveled to Nashville for a Saturday of exploration (and lots of beer on their end). We ate a picnic lunch next to the Parthenon, waded through the cowboy boot clad Broadway crowds, enjoyed a couple drinks on the roof of Rock Bottom and ate delicious Edley’s BBQ for dinner.

Courtney.

Courtney loves to get lost in a good book. We grabbed her copy of Alice In Wonderland, and made it outside just in time for a whimsical golden hour shoot between the trees in her backyard.

Hillary.

There are some people you meet and know immediately you’ve found a kindred spirit. When I was introduced to Hillary through our mutual friend Miranda, I knew this girl was going to become a best friend.

Plus, she’s extremely photogenic (which for a photographer, is an important trait in a new friend.)

Caleb.

Birmingham has some beautiful sunsets. Birmingham also has some beautiful men.

Both of which are pictured in this series.

Behind The Scenes: State Traditions

Here’s a little peek at the State Traditions spring t-shirt shoot. This Birmingham clothing company has just released their new Timeless Traditions T-Shirts. I had so much fun photographing at the Barons stadium and around Good People!

Pants Store: Jordan

In addition to shooting Carmen (previous post), I also got to work with Jordan, a sweet and naturally beautiful girl. This shoot was one of her first times modeling, and she did an excellent job!

Pants Store: Carmen

It was a pleasure to work with this beautiful model and friend again for the Pants Store spring shoot. Despite the shoot taking place in the middle of the day, we were able to find some shady spots to avoid the harsh lighting. And I experimented with a reflector for the first time!

Railroad Park.

The city of Birmingham is beautiful. It has captured my heart. This beautiful tunnel of lights was installed nearly a year ago right next to Railroad Park; one of my favorite spots in the city. Another thing that has captured my heart is Caleb, and he suggested we go have some fun with my new tripod. P.S. No photoshop here! Just long exposure.

Tandem Bikes.

This past weekend Caleb and I discovered the joys of tandem bicycles… well at least I discovered that riding in back means I could get away without pedaling (until Caleb noticed). We got the bike from Green Central Station, a picnic shop, in the Highlands area of Birmingham.

Oh, and our best friend Tim came along for the ride.
